I was approached to donate to a silent auction benefiting the Children’s Wish Foundation on May 10th.  Besides the fact that there will be 2 different burlesque dance troops performing contemporary burlesque to the classic caberet (Me? Invited?!), I was ecstatic to be able to not only attend and support but have the opportunity to use my craft to raise money for an amazing cause.

As a young woman without children I’ve been given only a few glances at the terrifying world that must be parenting.  Don’t get me wrong, I cannot wait and want a ridiculous amount of well behaved little boys, and maybe some twins, but I’m beginning to have a greater understanding for the patience and worry and care and love and patience that it must take to be a mother watching children grow.  I can’t even imagine how heart breaking it would be to cope with your child being diagnosed with a life-threatening disease.  Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes to children under 18 diagnosed with life-threatening diseases (read more about them here).

A Day to Remember, Can Help A Child Forget.

I figured I should read a little bit about the organization and got stuck on a particular page. I will warn you, I may have gotten a little or a lot teary.

So now its ON, I’m all riled up!

I’ve donated a stylized Lipstick & Lace Outdoor Pin-up Photoshoot.  And you better believe the set will be beautiful, and that Evanna Brabbins and Robyn Stewart are going to do fabulous Make-up and Hairstyling.

I’ve been sketching and dreaming, and can’t wait for that highest bidder to let us girls show her how much we appreciate her donation.

May 10th couldn’t come sooner.

If you know me, or if you don’t, it becomes pretty obviously evident in a short amount of time that I’m a sucker for lovely things.

I like shiny and pretty things (SHOES!).

I love being able to grow my own vegetables (one day ONE DAY that basil plant will survive!)

I like taking multiple breaks at any point of any to-do list to bake.  It is the most delicious and rewarding distraction.

My favourite thing ever though, is being able to be there in the company of a couple just super giddy and in love with each other.  You can’t help but feel happy and giddy too. It makes me humbled all the time that people choose me to capture their excited love- in the real world.  It doesn’t just exist in Grey’s Anatomy- and its even more amazing in person.

I think that I drove away that day with sore ankles from what felt like a mini mountain expedition and sore cheeks from all the smiling!

Enjoy.

Love.

I am always LEARNING, and always trying to teach myself how to use light in that just-perfect kind of way.  What a better subject matter than a lovely lady? And have you seen her eyes?! This is one of three very brave ladies who came and were a part of a boudoir marathon with me. We had a lovely and exciting day, complete with some cupcakes given to us by Fuss Cupcakes! I loved the plaid shirt she brought, and the cutest white ensembles! I wouldn’t have minded if she happened to have left that necklace either :)  I hope you enjoy them and are inspired to think of what you might look like in one of these shoots! You’d be surprised what a happy room full of girls, shoes, lace and frills can bring out in you.

So I’ve been begging both of my sisters and their husbands to make me an aunty for a long time now… I LOVE BABIES.  So I jumped at the chance to photograph Baby Elayna when I was approached.  She’s smiled for me many time since the photoshoot but on the day would just not give me a grin.  Even babies are making me work hard.  She’s adorable and I think the pictures are super cute and I’m quite proud….. OH AND MY ELDEST SISTER IS DUE IN MAY!

WAY way back in the summer…. when the mosquitoes were absolutely insane (!) we took shelter indoors for a family photo of my friend’s family.  They were goof balls… I threw in some of the goofiness for you.  Clearly its the girls that steal the show in the family for now.  These girls were unbelievable adorable, and I was thrilled at what I managed to get.  Playgrounds are super fun- regardless of bugs.

Could not have dreamed or waited more patiently for this shoot to happen! It was an amazing (and long and cold) day… But it was so worth it.  What an awesome creative to be a part of too.  Everyone added so much to the photos.  Don’t hesitate to message or email me to get in contact with the ladies that helped make these happen :) Photographer: Kimberley Krushel

What an incredible adventure it was to travel down to Vegas while it RAINED in Edmonton! Adele and Paul were married on June 19th, 2011 on a very hot vegas-sy day.  I was brought alongside Eileen to shoot for Retrospekt Designs (http://blog.retrospekt.ca) and man did we ever work hard to find some nice cool indoor locations! We scouted for the perfect spots, and happily retreated to the hotel room air condition to give our feet a break and to research…. more PHOTOS (Eileen and I are the perfect photo-nerd pair). They were married at the breath taking Belagio, who have their own in house photographers for the ceremony, so no ceremony photos- but I hope the rest make up for it.   It was AMAZING.  I hope you like the photos too!

I cannot even tell you how excited I have been waiting to post some of these photos.   These are some of my favourite’s from Bhvisha and Dharam’s wedding on June 12th, 2011.  I love the photos and love the colours! I can’t wait to share their ceremony later on! I shot alongside Eileen from Retrospekt Designs (http://blog.retrospekt.ca).  I’ve been learning SO MUCH from her this summer its amazing.  Hopefully you can spot the progress.  Hope you enjoy the photos! and don’t forget there are more to come!

I am so happy to be able to post some wedding photos finally.  It has been an amazing and very busy summer thus far, the fun and the incredible couples have made the exhaustion an afterthought (I plan to hibernate allllllll winter right?)  These are some of my favourite photos that I took at Lara and Steve’s wedding on July 9th, 2011.  I shot along side Eileen from Retrospekt Designs (http://blog.retrospekt.ca/) for the day- and it was fantastic.  I LOVE LARA AND STEVE.  They were amazing, and I recommend running into them somewhere and becoming friends… after all these two, met on a bus.

-enjoy

It’s been in the works for awhile, and its finally happening.
